Day 1: Arrival
Early morning arrival at Keflavik airport in Iceland, transfer via the Flybus to your accommodation in Reykjavík for one night.

Day 2: Þingvellir - Gullfoss - Geysir - Hvolsvöllur
Meet with guide and drive from Reykjavik to Þingvallavatn, Iceland´ s largest lake, and Þingvellir National Park, the ancient site of the world´s first parliament. Explore Gullfoss, the ‘golden waterfall', and Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Geysir and Strokkur, and numerous other hot springs and boiling mud pools.
Overnight in Hvolsvöllur area.

Day 3: Hvolsvöllur - Þórsmörk - Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Start the day in awe in Þórsmörk nature reserve with its unique composition of glaciers, rocks and greenery. Þórsmörk means the area of Þór, one of the gods in the pagean Nordic religion. Continue along the south shore and stop to admire the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss before continuing to Dyrhólaey nature reserve. Onwards to the village Vík and cross Eldhraun, a large mass of lava, before reaching the small village Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
Overnight in Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.

Day 4: Skaftafell - Jökulsárlón - Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Depart from Kirkjubæjarklaustur to Skaftafell National Park, where the waterfall Svartifoss surges over pillars of glittering black basalt dominated by Vatnajökull, Europe´s largest ice cap. Continue to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon where huge icebergs float and grind together in the still, deep waters of the lagoon, providing a surreal backdrop for a cruise with a difference.
Overnight in Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.

Day 5: Eldgjá - Landmannalaugar
Strike out along the Fjallabaksleið interior track to Eldgjá, "The Fire Fissure", and Landmannalaugar, a magnificent area surrounded by colorful rhyolite mountains. Recall the natural wonders of the previous few days during a relaxing soak in naturally warm pools.
Overnight in a hut in Landmannalaugar area.

Day 6: Sprengisandur
Across the wilderness of Sprengisandur, a wild, desolate land of breathtaking emptiness. This part of the interior, is the longest stretch between the South and the North and is only passable by 4wd vehicles during summer. It is mostly very desolate and barren. This day will certainly leave you with some unforgettable memories and experience.
Overnight in hut and barbecue dinner.

Day 7: Gæsavötn - Askja
A unique day in the heart of Iceland. Start the day by driving the isolated road towards Gæsavötn on the northern side of Vatnajökull glacier. This route is one of the most interesting and adventurous for 4wd vehicles in the country. It takes us along the northern edge of Vatnajökull glacier and into the desert highlands of Dyngjufjöll mountains and the Askja caldera. Explore this magnificent area and the volcanic crater Víti. This could be the most mysterious day during the tour.
Overnight in hut and barbecue dinner.

Day 8: Askja-Lake Mývatn
From Askja we pass the largest continuous lava field in Iceland, Ódáðahraun, before descending into the greenness of the oasis Lake Mývatn, a wonderland of bird life and strange volcanic rock formations. Top the day off with a relaxing bath in the Mývatn´s nature baths.
Overnight in Mývatn area.

Day 9: Lake Mývatn - Húsavík
Explore some of the many places of contrast between volcanos, fauna and flora of the Lake Mývatn area before heading towards the bustling Húsavík village, on the eastern shores of The Skjalfandi Bay. In Húsavík you have the option to go on a whale watching tour.
Overnight in Húsavík.

Day 10: Akureyri - Reykjavík
Drive to Akureyri, the capital of the north with a stop at the impressive Goðafoss waterfall. In Akureyri you will leave your guide and take an afternoon flight to Reykjavik (approx. 45 min. flight). Bus transfer from domestic airport to your hotel in Reykjavik.
Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 11: Departure
Take a morning walk and say farewell to Iceland. After breakfast check out of your accommodation and have your baggage ready to transfer. Visit the Blue Lagoon en route to Keflavik airport. A perfect solution for what to do on your last day in Reykjavik and a great way to go home feeling relaxed and revitalized! With your baggage safely stored on the coach enjoy a soak in the lagoon or treat yourself to a massage. Transfer from the lagoon to the airport and return home on an Icelandair flight.

Note: It is important to bring your own sleeping bag as three nights are spent in mountain hut accommodation where you will share rooms with other travelers.
