This itinerary focuses on Iceland's spectacular
scenery and includes the three national
parks: Jokulsa, Skaftafell and Thingvellir
in addition to the stunning Lake Myvatn.
Day 1: Arrive in Iceland. Transfer upon arrival from Keflavik to the domestic airport in Reykjavik for the short flight north to Akureyri where you will pick up your rental vehicle and overnight. Day 2: Join an optional whale-watching tour and visit the North Sailing Whale Centre at Husavik, explore Lake Myvatn and spend two nights in the area. Day 3: Exploring the north east - waterfalls, the lake, whales … the choice is yours. Day 4: Heading to the very north east corner today and Jokulsa Park before overnighting at Egilsstader. Day 5: Your journey south offer a couple of options to visit the fjords before reaching Hofn. Day 6: You will continue through the land of the icecaps en route to Skaftafell National Park. Day 7: Driving west today along the breathtaking coastal route, you will reach Sellfoss where you will stay for two nights. Day 8: A full day to explore the geysers, waterfalls and historic Thingvellir. Day 9: You will return to Reykjavik for your final night in the Icelandic capital. Day 10: Time to enjoy the Blue Lagoon before returning your vehicle to Keflavik airport and flying back to North America.
