We offer a spectacular selection Iceland Horse Riding tours that will satisfy every taste and interest. Day tours are operated from the Íshestar Riding Centre, about 15 minutes drive from Reykjavík. Individuals, families and all kinds of groups can easily enjoy horses where experienced staff ensures the safety of all guests. This popular tour is an ideal combination where the Icelandic horse and the rejuvenating Blue Lagoon play the major role. Your ride follows smooth riding tracks through bushy hills and moss covered lava fields. See the variation in the lava fields depending on their age and enjoy the different shapes of the lava. After a ride of 1 - 2 hours we drive to the fabulous Blue Lagoon where you can choose to swim in the mineral rich water, enjoy a massage or just relax and enjoy the facilities. (Bathing fee is not included in the tour price. During this comfortable ride you will experience beautiful riding tracks through bushy hills and moss covered lava fields. Enjoy the view of the beautiful Bláfjöll Mountains on the horizon. After a nice lunch at the riding centre we head straight into the adventure of exploring the Reykjanes preservation area. Cross the Kaldá River, ride around the old volcano Mt. Helgafell or into the beautiful Heiđmörk Nature Park with all its strange lava formations and the ancient Gjáarrétt sheep corral, made from lava stones. View rough lava fields and look for different formations in the lava, maybe you will be able to spot a troll or two. Choice of route depends on the season and weather. Really test the versatility of the Icelandic horse, heading straight into the adventure of exploring the Reykjanes preservation area. Cross the Kaldá River, ride around the old volcano Mt. Helgafell or into the beautiful Heiđmörk Nature Park (depending on the season). You can also start with lunch (available at an extra charge) and then head out for the ride.
