Icebergs, hot springs and volcanoes abound in Iceland. Join this escorted tour to discover them and so much more of the magnificent natural landscape that surrounds them. A perfect mix of traveling off the beaten track and visiting the main attractions of the south that makes this a memorable tour.

Day 1: Arrival
Arrive in Iceland at the Keflavik Airport, transfer to accommodation in Reykjavik for one night

Day 2: Reykjavik - South Shore - Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Begin escorted tour today; drive along the south shore passing various places of beauty and interest e.g. Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls and the sand flats of Markafljót river. On to Dyrhólaey, a nature reserve offering a spectacular view over Myrdalsjokull glacier and black sandy beaches. Continue to Kirkjubæjarklaustur, former site of a 12th century Catholic convent for overnight stay.

Day 3: Skaftafell National Park - Glacial Lagoon
Skaftafell National Park is one of Iceland's most outstanding areas of natural beauty dominated by the glacier Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice cap. Continue to the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon where huge icebergs, float and grind together in the still, deep waters of the lagoon. A breathtaking sight where you witness the spectacular force of nature. Overnight in Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Day 4: Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon - Gullfoss - Geysir
Explore the magnificent Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon in the morning. Drive to the edge of the glacier tongue Sólheimajökull. We spend some time exploring the glacier. Onwards through the farmlands to the thermal area of the great Geysir and Strokkur spouting hot springs. Onwards to Gullfoss, known as the "golden waterfall". Overnight in Flúðir.

Day 5: Þingvellir National Park- Blue Lagoon - Reykjavík
Þingvellir National Park, where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland's larges lake, before heading to the Blue Lagoon for a refreshing dip in the warm, mineral-rich waters. Return to Reykjavík for overnight.

Day 6: Departure
Morning at leisure in Reykjavik, afternoon transfer to the airport for return flight to North America or onwards to Europe.
