The Hotel Edda chain, which holds a very strong position in Iceland, has a total of 15 hotels around the country and are only open during the summer. Most of them are run in the student quarters of schools, as well as the student lodging area of a grammar school with rooms ranging from 20 – 204 of differing quality.  The star-rating is from 2 (hotel Edda) to 3 stars (hotel Edda PLUS).
